Paul Barbosa is the Senior Systems Engineering Manager of the West Area Territory
Operation, Commercial West's largest geographic region, responsible for more than $470 million
in annual sales for the company. The West Area Territory Operation includes 24 Systems
Engineers and 4 Managers.

With 18 years of operations and sales experience in IT and communications, Paul brings a
deep working knowledge of Cisco's technology architectures and experience from Commercial
Select and Territory market segments. He is valued for his passionate and enthusiastic
leadership style; ability to accelerate strategy from concept to execution, success at building
highly motivated teams, and deep commitment to high standards. He serves as the top
engineering sponsor for the Operation fostering strategic relationships with customers and
partners, guiding business and technology strategy, and identifying new opportunities to create
shared success.

Prior to leading the West Territory Operation, Paul was the Systems Engineering Manager for
the Southern California Commercial Region, where he played a critical role in helping define and
shape new territories such as Hawaii, Orange County, and Las Vegas. During his tenure he's
given credit for continuing to drive growth in a dynamically changing geographic business. He
was instrumental in the identification of a new market opportunity with Native American Casino's
and for the creation of comprehensive go to market plans that increased business relevance for
Cisco in the rapidly evolving gaming and hospitality industry.

Before joining Cisco in 2007, Paul spent 7 years with R.L. Phillips, a professional services and
consulting firm. He joined the firm of 8 employees and grew the business, reporting to the CEO
as the Director of Engineering, to 60 engineers. He is credited with winning major partnerships
with Raytheon and EDS (acquired by HP) providing Enterprise Security Consultant services for
an 11 billion dollar IT outsourcing project. During his tenure with R.L. Phillips Paul also served as
the Chief Security Architect for the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet responsible for the Enterprise
Security Architecture for the 400,000-user enterprise environment. Prior to R.L. Phillips Paul was
an active duty Marine where he specialized in tactical communications. He deployed in support
of Operation United Shield (Somalia Area of Operations) and Operation Desert Thunder (Kuwait
Area of Operations).

Complementing his professional work, Paul serves as the President of Fundraising for the
Sons of Thunder Academy, a not-for-profit organization in the Denver Area dedicated to helping
develop the next generation of Olympic level wrestlers.
