Bio

Derek Swanson started building Novell networks in the mid-80s in Los Angeles. Saw the promise of IP and spent much of the 90s training clients globally how to implement and use TCP/IP on Cisco platforms.  Moved up the stack to client/server, thin-client, and VSI projects and soon discovered that storage was really the primary bottleneck in everyone’s environment.  He has been engaged in storage ops and architecting since 2000, finding ways to make people’s lives simpler through the correct implementation of great new technologies.
