Ted entered the IT space as an IBM intern while attending Claremont Men’s College in 1975.  After graduation, he moved to San Diego to join IBM’s sales and marketing team to help launch the very successful 4300 air-cooled mainframe product line.   He spent 17 years with IBM including a two year assignment on the Executive Education team based in San Jose, CA.  He presented IBM architecture and product strategies to customers worldwide with stops in Brussels, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and India.  He spent two years in San Antonio as a Marketing Manager before returning to San Diego as a large account executive.  He led the IBM team that convinced the Price Club to move to scanning technology in 1990.  Upon leaving IBM after 17 years, he helped launch the sales team for SDG&E to address the new deregulation energy market. He later spent thirteen years developing a new territory for CSI Leasing, a competitor to IBM Global Finance, HP Leasing and ComDisco amongst others.  He has had the privilege of working with SAIC, Mitchell International, Jack in the Box, Coleman College, Hunter Industries, Luce Forward, Procopio, National Pen, ICW, SDDPC, Scripps Clinic, ViaSat, Wireless Facilities, Titan Corporation, Stater Bros., Solar Turbines, Synteract, Cymer, Jenny Craig, The IT Pros and StarPoint Advantage. In addition, Ted provided leadership, strategic planning and event management to various community based organizations including the San Diego Jaycees, Torrey Pines Kiwanis and the La Costa Youth Organization.  Ted is the current Executive Director of the 2013 La Jolla Festival of the Arts which draws 7,000 visitors annually with proceeds benefiting San Diegans with disabilities.  He lives with this wife, Laura, in Encinitas, CA. 

Ted’s passion to mentor, teach and share his knowledge and experience in business development and community service is the basis for creating The Visio Group.He helps businesses and non-profit organizations increase revenue and profitability through planning, preparation, and execution of well thought out sales and marketing strategies.  He collaborates with Customatrix, a locally based consulting practice, to provide customers with a full range of services to help grow their businesses.
