Most organizations are cognizant of the insider threat, yet many simply consider this threat as a single type of actor, when in fact the insider threat is a grouping of several distinct adversary types. As each type of insider has different characteristics, a uniform defense approach is not effective. Rather, a variety of defense measures must be deployed in order to be effective against the different types of internal adversaries. Presented by the elite organization of security researchers and consultants widely known for being the first company to hack the iPhone, this session will articulate the different types of internal adversaries and through case study analysis, provide attendees with actionable tactics to effectively defend against each type.
