Paul Yust is the Vice President of Information Technology for Quanta Services, Inc. Quanta is an S&P 500 company with over 18,000 employees providing infrastructure construction and maintenance services to the electric power, natural gas and pipeline industries. Prior to Quanta, Paul was the Vice President and CIO of BJ Services Company. BJ was a leading worldwide oilfield service company that was later merged with Baker Hughes.  Before BJ, Paul served as CIO of Kraton Polymers LLC, a leading multinational chemical manufacturing and distribution company.

Paul is a dynamic, results oriented CIO who identifies business issues first and then develops strategies that incorporate information technology with operational improvements that move the organization toward optimizing stakeholder value.  He has a long history of improving business success through the support provided by leading edge technology innovations and applications that increase efficiencies in business operations and improve customer service focus.

There are several themes that run through Paul’s career and the many successes which set him apart from other information technology executives.  First, he is a pragmatic businessperson and a transformational CIO. He is a collaborative business leader who works well at all levels of the organization and is a valued member of the top executive team responsible for increasing stake holder value. While he has a high level of technical knowledge, he defines his role as participating in the leadership of the business and integrating information technology to support the initiatives and goals of the organization.

Second, he has been extremely successful in designing, developing and implementing large, enterprise wide information technology systems on time, within budget, and in line with the initial objectives identified for these systems. Third, Paul is recognized for his experience and knowledge gained through working in complex and global organizations. Finally, Paul has a history of developing cohesive and well functioning teams that work together to achieve objectives.  He has achieved this by hiring and training top-notch people, minimizing turnover by cultivating a positive and open working environment, and leading by example based on his strong technical background.

Paul graduated magna cum laude in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University. He also holds an MBA from Texas A&M. He is active in number of IT networking organizations including CIO Leadership Network, CIO Executive Summit, KPMG CIO Share Forum, Accenture CIO Council, Techxans Technology Executive Network, Houston Technology Center, and Panorama Capital Technology Council.
