As the Founder and Chairman of Cedric Leighton International Strategies, he has facilitated the adoption of critical Cyber Security projects for domestic and international clients. These projects integrate multiple Cyber Security technologies, such as Authentication, Encryption and Sanitization in order to realize "Defense in Depth" Cyber Strategies for his clients. He also works with innovative technology companies as well as Wall Street firms to facilitate the adoption of cutting-edge cyber technologies.

He founded his consultancy in 2010 after a 26-year career as an Intelligence Officer in the US Air Force, where he deployed five times to the Middle East, witnessed the Fall of the Berlin Wall, and led specialized intelligence support efforts during the "Shock and Awe" phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He served with Special Operations Forces and on the Air Staff and Joint Staff in the Pentagon, where he was Deputy Director of Warfighter Support and Integration in the Intelligence Directorate, JCS/J2. His last Active Duty assignment was as the Deputy Director of Training for the National Security Agency, where he helped train the nation's intelligence and Cyber Warriors. His decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and seven Meritorious Service Medals.

Colonel Leighton is a Distinguished Graduate of Cornell University's Air Force ROTC program. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in History (magna cum laude) and German Area Studies from Cornell University and a Master's Degree in International Studies from Angelo State University.
